Fuel Consumption Management
Modular Fuel Consumption Management (FCM) systems engineered per vessel, providing real-time fuel consumption data, bunkering control, and tank level monitoring for EU MRV, SEEMP, EEXI and CII reporting.
Real-time fuel and emissions data, engineered per vessel
BreezeMarine designs, assembles, and installs Fuel Consumption Management systems that measure fuel consumption, bunkering transfers, and tank levels in real time and convert that data into the reporting formats required under EU MRV, SEEMP, EEXI and CII. Each system is built individually per vessel and integrates with the ship’s existing automation rather than replacing it.
±0.1%Fuel consumption monitoring accuracy, per consumer and per group, in real time.
±0.5%System-level bunkering measurement accuracy, with custody-transfer metering up to 99.9%.
24/7Service and warranty support available on request following commissioning.
Equipment covered by the onboard monitoring system
The onboard installation collects data from the vessel’s main fuel-consuming and navigational systems and feeds it into a central database for reporting and analysis.
- Main engines
- Auxiliary diesel generators
- Boilers
- Bunkering line
- Propeller shaft (torque / power)
- Inclinometer
- Anemometer
- Viscometer
- GPS positioning
- Central database and computer complex
Four monitoring functions, one system
Fuel Consumption Monitoring
Real-time consumption tracked by individual consumer and by group, with trend history, data archiving, export, and summary reporting for MRV and SEEMP.
Bunkering & Custody Transfer
Coriolis mass flow metering for HFO, MDO and MGO, reporting in MID and MPA formats under OIML R117-1, with automatic bunkering ticket generation and quality tracking during transfer.
Tank Level Monitoring
Continuous mass, density and temperature measurement per tank, with configurable alarm thresholds and level history.
Fleet Monitoring (optional)
Cross-vessel comparison of fuel performance and operating modes, run on the shipowner’s own infrastructure with no cloud dependency. Scoped and priced separately per fleet.
Data structured for current reporting requirements
| EU MRV | Automated data collection supporting annual monitoring, reporting and verification of CO₂ emissions under Regulation (EU) 2015/757. |
|---|---|
| SEEMP | Operational fuel efficiency data feeding the vessel's Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan. |
| EEXI | Supporting data for Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index verification. |
| CII | Real-time consumption indication supporting Carbon Intensity Indicator rating management. |
| MARPOL Annex VI / MEPC.217(63) | Correlation of NOx emissions with fuel consumption. |
| OIML R117-1 | Bunkering measurement and custody-transfer certification for HFO, MDO and MGO. |
Fuel Consumption Management — technical questions
Can an FCM system be installed on an existing vessel without replacing current automation?
Yes. The system is designed to integrate with existing ship automation and equipment, and can be commissioned in phases according to budget and scope.
What accuracy applies to bunkering measurement?
Coriolis mass flow metering supports custody-transfer accuracy of up to 99.9%, with system-level bunkering reporting accuracy of ±0.5%, in line with OIML R117-1.
Is fleet-wide monitoring included by default?
No. Fleet monitoring is an optional module, scoped and priced separately per fleet on request.
Does the system support LNG-fueled vessels?
Yes, the FCM system is compatible with LNG fuel systems.
